Air Pollutants and Toxic Air Pollutants are different from each other.

While air pollutants are known to decrease the quality of air, toxic air pollutants not only decrease the quality of air but also cause severe health effects like damage to to respiratory and nervous systems. Toxic air pollutants are also known as Hazardous Air Pollutants or HAPs.

They exist as:

  • Particulate Matter or
  • Vapors
