All types of waste that is generated as a result of medical practices and procedures (either directly or indirectly) that contains organic material can be referred to as Biomedical Waste. Biomedical waste is a type of biowaste.Biomedical waste may be solid or liquid.

Biomedical Waste can also be defined as any kind of waste containing:

Infectious (or potentially infectious) materials
Biomolecules or organisms that are restricted from environmental release

Examples of Biomedical Waste:

Infusion Kits
Packaging of medical or laboratory origin
Used Bandages and Dressings
