All types of waste that is generated as a result of medical practices and procedures (either directly or indirectly) that contains organic material can be referred to as
Biomedical Waste. Biomedical waste is a type of biowaste.
Biomedical waste may be solid or liquid.

- Biomolecules or organisms that are restricted from environmental release
