The Taxonomy for Green Steel for India is a prerequisite for the development of a coherent policy for the decarbonising the steel sector of India by defining a framework for promoting the adoption of green technologies and sustainable practices in the production of steel.
In alignment with India’s target of achieving net-zero emissions intensity by 2070, the Taxonomy of Green Steel for India was unveiled on 12th December 2024 via the Ministry of Steel.
The Green Steel Taxonomy for India is additional supposed to supplement the transition towards the advancement of the National Mission on Green Steel.
