The Ecomark Rules 2024 have come into force from 1st October 2024.
Products that meet specific sustainability or environmental criteras may be granted an Ecomark under these rules.
The following procedure is outlined under these rules for the grant of an Ecomark:
- Application for grant of application shall be made to the Central Pollution Control Board (using Form 1 or a Web Portal developed by CPCB)
- Verification of the application by CPCB itself or through a Verifier
- Preparation of report (either by CPCB or by Verifier respectively) within 60 Days from date of verification.
- If verification report is found satisfactory, CPCB shall grant Ecomark to the product.
The validity of a granted Ecomark shall be 3 years or until change in Ecomark Criteria ( whichever is earlier)
