All glasses cannot be recycled.

Based on different applications, different types of glasses are created. In other words different types of glass have different melting points, chemical composition, etc. Thus several types of glass waste being generated of which following types of glass cannot be recycled:

  • Microwave glass
  • Ovenware
  • Heat-resistant glass
  • Mirror
  • Crystal
  • Light bulbs
  • Cathode-ray tubes (CRTs) found in some televisions and computer monitors
