P.U.C. refers to pollution under control certificate.

Emissions from automobiles are major contributors towards air pollution all over the world. The smoke emitted from vehicles contains the following pollutants:

  • Carbon Monoxide (CO)
  • Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx)
  • Particulate Matter (PM)
  • Sulphur Dioxide (SO2)
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
  • Nitrous Oxide (N2O)
  • Toxics

P.U.C. Certification is obtained by testing the automobile emissions for the percentage pollutants they contain. It indicates that the vehicles emissions are in alignment with the standard norms and do not have negative impacts on the environment.
